The Township maintains 361 km of open public roads consisting of 183 km of gravel and 178 km of hard surface (asphalt pavement or tar and chip (hi-float)). The Township does little to no work on unassumed roads, unimproved roads (mud and summer roads) or road allowances that may or may not contain any type of road or trail. Roads are inspected according to the class of highway in order to ensure roads are eliminated from any defects and to select which roads will be resurfaced or recommended for reconstruction.
|Class of Highway||Patrolling Frequency|
|3||Once every 7 days|
|4||Once every 14 days|
|5||Once every 30 days|
|6||No minimum requirement|
NOTE: In addition to the above requirement, Municipal Works patrols class 6 roads at least twice a year.
