Tuesday September 17, 2019 – The County's waste collection service provider, Waste Connections of Canada, is reporting that despite assistance from other service providers, they have six unmanned recycling routes today in Tay and Ramara Townships, with Tay being the most significantly impacted. There is a possibility that, once collections are completed in other areas, some of the unmanned areas may be collected later today. We will continue to monitor and provide updates as necessary but at this time, we anticipate that recycling collection will not be completed today in Tay and Ramara.
Missed areas will be prioritized for collection on the
next scheduled collection day, Tuesday September 24th.
We are also working to obtain additional resources to return to missed areas
later this week. Updates on this potential will be provided once we have
a clearer understanding of the scope of work and available resources.
Collection impacts are communicated to the public through messaging on
simcoe.ca, social media, as well as directly to subscribers to the new ‘Simcoe
County Collects’ mobile app. Residents should be encouraged to download
the free app through Google Play or the App Store. Residents can also
subscribe for waste collection alerts at www.simcoe.ca/wastereminder. Residents
should be directed to contact the County’s Customer Service Centre at
1-800-263-3199 or email@example.com
for additional information if required.
Residents may be directed to https://www.simcoe.ca/SolidWasteManagement/Pages/Waste-collection-impacts---What-you-need-to-know.aspx
