The Township of Ramara is seeking the public's input from October 25 to January 25, 2022 regarding trail construction along Ramara Road 47.
Under the Design of Public Spaces Standard (External link)of the Accessibility Ontario Disabilities Act (AODA), municipalities building or reconstructing recreational trails must make those trails accessible to visitors with disabilities. However, before the build or construction is done, the municipality must consult with the public to get feedback on Trail amenities, rest areas, passing areas, view areas, and other pertinent features. As well, the public will learn about elements of the recreation trail that include the following:
- How long the trail is.
- How wide the trail is on average at its narrowest point.
- Where amenities will be placed.
- Running and cross slope.
- The type of surface of the trail.

Ramara Road 47 Trail Project
The Township of Ramara is seeking the public’s input from October 25 to November 25 regarding an upcoming trail project. This project aims to provide a trail along the west side of Ramara Road 47 starting at Stone Gate Road and travelling north. This project will provide a safer trail route along Ramara Road 47 and will connect to Simcoe Road near Lagoon City. This project is anticipated to take place in 2022 and be part of the Ramara Road 47 reconstruction process with Phase 1 consisting of Stone Gate Road north to Concession Road 1.
The trail will be 10 feet wide and will mimic the trail that is found on Rama Road. The running slope should not be more than 10% and the cross slope will be sufficient only to provide drainage.
There will be no amenities on the trail, such as benches or other rest areas.
We want to hear from you! We need your feedback on what you want for trail amenities, rest areas, passing areas, view areas and other pertinent features.
