Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Celebrates the Launch of High-Speed internet services in Northern Ramara

Ramara/May 18, 2022 – Today at Ramara's Works Yard 3 location, the Township of Ramara, in partnership with Muskoka Wifi, celebrated the launch of high-speed internet with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Last month, Muskoka Wifi completed the installation of two 150' towers in the northern end of the Township that will provide up to 50 Megabits per second (Mbps) with unlimited data to 200 rural households and small businesses in the area.

"Since beginning our term on Council, expanding and investing in reliable broadband services for the Township of Ramara has been one of our key strategic goals," states Deputy Mayor Joe Gough. "Our partnership with Muskoka Wifi in delivering reliable, high-speed broadband service is another step in reducing the digital gap and providing access to our rural community. The installation of the two 150' towers on Fairgrounds road, and at 7305 County Road 169 will provide up to 50 megabits per second (Mbps) speed with unlimited data to over 200 rural residents in the area."

The Township of Ramara continues to focus on expanding high-speed internet services to households within Ramara. In 2022 through the SWIFT program, UBF program and Ramara's enhancement projects, over 2,500 additional homes will have access to internet services that allow them to work, learn and connect at home.
