IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ramara/ January 4, 2022 - With trends showing a rapid increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations, the province is temporarily moving into a modified Step Two of its Roadmap to Reopening plan effective Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 12:01 a.m. for at least 21 days.
Implementing these time-limited measures aims to help halt transmission and prevent hospitals from becoming overwhelmed due to increased cases and absenteeism.
Staff are available Monday to Friday between 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by phone and/or email to respond to inquiries. We ask residents to leave a message, and staff will respond within two business days or otherwise noted. Residents are also encouraged to access online services and to sign up for pre-authorized payments or paperless billing. Residents can learn more at www.ramara.ca/onlineservices.
The following impacts to services are as follows:
- ALL Township Buildings and facilities will continue to be closed to the public. This includes the following buildings:
- Township Administration Building
- All Community Centres including the Ramara Centre
- Mara Medical Centre (only impacts the Ramara Township Public Library, not the Medical Clinic)
- All Fire Halls
- All Works buildings
- All in-person recreation programming at the Ramara Centre is cancelled.
- Ramara Township Public Library will be closed to the public, but the library will continue to offer curbside service and virtual programming.
- All Council and Committee meetings will continue virtually.
- All planning, infrastructure and building applications will be accepted electronically.
- All building inspections will continue as scheduled.
- Effective January 5, 2022, at 12:01 a.m. until further notice, Short-Term Rental Accommodations are not permitted to operate unless rented to a person in need.
- Locally, our By-law Enforcement Team will be responding to complaints and actively enforcing all the applicable regulations throughout the Township.
