Code of Conduct
Commitment to Ethical Governance
The Code of Conduct for Members of Council, Boards, and Committees, together with provincial legislation, sets out ethical standards of behaviour for those serving in local government.
These standards promote integrity, transparency, and accountability in the performance of official duties and reflect the Township of Ramara’s dedication to good governance.

Administration of the Code of Conduct
Administered by the Township's Integrity Commissioner, the Code of Conduct provides a consistent framework for acceptable conduct. It complements existing legislation and helps build public confidence in municipal decision-making.
The Code addresses a wide range of topics, including:
- Confidential information
- Gifts and benefits
- Use of Township property, services, and resources (including campaign use)
- Conduct related to current and prospective employment
- Efficient use of resources
- Business relations
- Behaviour during Council meetings
- Treatment of staff
- Use of influence
- Interactions with Councillors, staff, and the public
- Adherence to Council policies
- Procedures for informal and formal complaints
