Feeding Families campaign returns to support Ramara residents in need
Ramara, Ont. / Nov. 24, 2025 – The Township of Ramara, along with community partners, is proud to launch the 2025 Feeding Families Campaign.
“Each year, the Feeding Families Campaign showcases the incredible generosity of our community,” said Mayor Basil Clarke. “Every dollar and every donation helps bring warmth and comfort to local families during the holiday season.”
Running from Nov. 24 to Dec. 15, 2025, the campaign aims to raise $10,000 or more in monetary and gift card donations to support local families and children during the holiday season. Over the past five years, the community-driven initiative has raised more than $50,000, directly helping families in need across Ramara.
How to Get Involved
It’s easy to make a difference! Residents and businesses can contribute in several ways:
· Monetary or Gift Card Donations:
o Township Administration Building (2297 HWY 12, Brechin)
o Ramara Centre – including the Ramara Township Public Library (5482 Highway 12, Atherley)
o New for 2025, monetary donations can also be made online. Please note a convenience fee applies.
· Mitten Tree Donations:
o Donate new mitts, hats, and scarves, at the Township Administration Building and Ramara Centre.
Corporate Giving
Businesses and organizations are encouraged to join the campaign as community champions. Donations over $100 are eligible for a charitable receipt and will be recognized on the Township’s social media channels.
Several family-friendly events throughout December will help spread holiday cheer and provide opportunities for donating:
· Brechin-Mara Legion’s annual Breakfast with Santa takes place Dec. 8, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
· Ramara Firefighters Association’s annual “Stamp Out Hunger” Boot Drive takes place at Foodland in Brechin on Dec. 6, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
In addition, the Ramara Township Public Library will host special holiday storytime on Dec.11, 2025, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Brechin Branch (Township of Ramara Building). Drop-in for a special holiday craft and storytime all about the spirit of giving! Crafts will be available starting at 4 p.m.; Storytime will be at 5 p.m. No registration required.
