Fire Hydrant Flow Testing Begins July 14, 2026
Please be advised that the Ontario Clean Water Agency will be conducting fire hydrant flow testing in Brechin and Lagoon City. This critical testing ensures our municipal water supply and hydrant network can provide adequate pressure and flow in the event of an emergency.
Testing Schedule
- Dates: Tuesday, July 14 to Wednesday, July 15 and Tuesday, July 21 to Wednesday, July 22.
- Time: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Affected Areas: Municipal water users in Brechin and Lagoon City
What to Expect
During flow testing, some residents may notice temporary discolouration of their tap water due to disturbed sediment in the water distribution system. The water remains safe for consumption. If discoloured water is detected, run the cold water tap closest to the water source for a few minutes, or until the water runs clear.
