Join the conversation: Zoning By-law open house set for July 22

Ramara, Ont. / July 14, 2026 – The Township of Ramara is inviting residents, businesses, property owners and community organizations to attend an upcoming open house as part of the Township's Comprehensive Zoning By-law Update.

The introductory open house will take place on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Township Administration Building (2297 Highway 12, Brechin).

"Community input is an essential part of the Zoning By-law update process," said Mayor Basil Clarke. "The decisions made through this Zoning By-law update will help guide how Ramara grows while protecting the features that make our Township unique. Whether you're a resident, business owner or property owner, we encourage everyone to attend the open house, ask questions and share their ideas."

The open house provides an opportunity for the community to learn more about the project, meet with Township staff and the project team, ask questions, and share feedback that will help shape the future of land-use planning in Ramara.

The Township's Comprehensive Zoning By-law is being updated to align with the recently adopted Official Plan, current provincial planning legislation and the evolving needs of the community. Zoning establishes how land can be used throughout the Township and influences many aspects of everyday life, including housing, businesses, agriculture, waterfronts, transportation and community character.

Residents who are unable to attend the open house can still participate by completing the online community survey and exploring the interactive mapping tool, both available until Aug. 5, 2026, at ramara.ca/ZoningUpdate.

Hard copies of the survey are also available at the Township Administration Building, Ramara Centre and Ramara Public Library. Feedback received throughout the engagement process will help inform draft updates to the Township's Comprehensive Zoning By-law.
