New accessible pavilion coming to the Ramara Centre

Creating a more accessible space for community connection

Ramara, Ont. / Oct. 6, 2026 – A new accessible pavilion is coming to the Ramara Centre, creating a shaded, barrier-free gathering space for residents and visitors to enjoy while taking part in the many recreation and community activities offered at the property.

The project is funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Enabling Accessibility Fund.

“The Ramara Centre property has become a true hub for recreation and community activity, with people of all ages coming together for sports, programs, camps, library services and community events,” said Mayor Basil Clarke. “The new pavilion will be another great addition to the property, providing an accessible and welcoming space where people can gather, connect and enjoy. We’re grateful to the Government of Canada for its support through the Enabling Accessibility Fund and for helping us continue to make this important community space more enjoyable for everyone.”

The pavilion is the latest improvement at the Ramara Centre. Earlier this year, the Township opened a new playground adjacent to the Centre, creating another space for children and families to play and be active. The site is also home to the Ramara Public Library, summer camps, soccer, youth flag football and other community programming, with rehabilitation of the baseball diamond also planned for this fall.

Together, these amenities provide opportunities for residents of different ages and abilities to be active, spend time outdoors and connect with their community. The addition of the accessible pavilion will further enhance the property by providing a comfortable and inclusive gathering space close to the many activities taking place on site.

Construction on the pavilion project is anticipated to be complete mid-October, with $72,476 in funding provided through the Government of Canada. For more information about recreation facilities and programs in Ramara, visit ramara.ca/recreation.
