Notice of Proposed Stop Up, Closure and Sale of Unopened Road Allowance

TAKE NOTICE that the Corporation of the Township of Ramara proposes to pass a by-law to stop up and close a portion of the unopened road allowance on certain lands in the Township of Ramara, County of Simcoe, more particularly described as Part 1 on Reference Plan 51R-17755, adjacent to 8168 Laidlaw Avenue, as shown on the Key Map below.


AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE
 that the lands have been declared surplus to the Township’s needs and that the Corporation of the Township of Ramara will by the aforesaid by-law authorize the sale and conveyance of the Lands to the owner of land abutting the same for a consideration of $4,300, as determined by appraisal and approved by Council.

AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE
 that a Public Meeting will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at the Township Administration Building, 2297 Highway 12, Brechin, Ontario, to receive comments regarding the proposed stop up, closure and sale of the Lands. Feedback from this meeting will be considered by Council when the proposed by-law comes forward at a future meeting in accordance with the requirements of the Municipal Act, 2001.

Any person wishing to comment on the proposed by-law and disposition, or any person who claims that their land will be prejudicially affected, is requested to submit comments in writing to the undersigned by noon on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the Office of the Clerk, Township of Ramara, 2297 Highway 12, Brechin, Ontario, L0K 1B0, or by email to clerks@ramara.ca.
