Notice of Sanitary Sewer Main Flushing and Inspection
Southview Drive and Select Properties on Fernwood Lane

August 7, 2025

Wessuc, a contractor for the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA), the Township’s operating authority for water and wastewater, will be flushing and inspecting the sewer main on Southview Drive and select properties on Fernwood Lane, on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, beginning at 9 a.m. (impacted properties have received hand-delivered notices). Work is expected to be completed by 5 p.m. This notice is to provide you with general information as the flushing can cause temporary impacts such as splashing from toilets/drains or odours.

To protect your home:

• Keep toilet lids closed when not in use
• Use drain plugs in sinks and bathtubs
• Remove floor mats from bathrooms
• Place an old towel around the base of toilets

Cover basement floor drains with thick plastic (a plastic freezer bag works well)

If there is an odour afterward:

• Run water down sink and bathtub drains
• Pour a bucket of water into any floor drain
