Notice of the Adoption of Official Plan Amendment No. 29

Take Notice that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Ramara passed By-law No. 2026.12 on the 9^th day of March 2026, under Subsection 22 of the Planning Act, R.S.O, 1990, c. P.13 adopting Amendment No.29 to the Official Plan of the Township of Ramara (2003).

Purpose and Effect:

The purpose of Amendment No. 29 is to amend the current land use designations from “Agriculture” and “Rural” to “Agriculture special policy”, “Mineral Aggregate Extraction Area special policy” and “Mineral Aggregate Extraction Area”. Schedules A and D have been updated to reflect these changes.  The amendment will permit the licencing of a quarry on a portion of the lands.  It also allows for ecological enhancements and ongoing environmental monitoring on the remaining lands through the life of the licenced quarry

A copy of Official Plan Amendment No. 29 is available for review at the Township of Ramara Municipal Office at 2297 Highway 12, Brechin, ON. during normal business hours and can be found at the bottom of this notice.

Related Applications:

This application was reviewed concurrently with Zoning Bylaw Amendment File Z-11/23.  This application was approved and the bylaw passed on March 9, 2026. (Bylaw Number 2026.13)

Effect of Public Input:

Prior to adopting Official Plan Amendment No. 29, Council considered all submissions and concerns made up until the day of adoption.

Notice of Approval Authority Decision:

Any person or public body will be entitled to receive the notice of the decision of the County of Simcoe, as the approval authority, if a written request to be notified of the decision is made to:
