Roads Needs Study - Traffic Monitoring Underway

As part of the Township of Ramara’s Roads Needs Study, temporary traffic recorders will be placed at various locations over the next seven days.

These devices only count the number of vehicles. They do not record speed or personal information. Each recorder will be in place for 1–2 days at each location. Due to winter conditions, this method is being used instead of road strips to avoid interference with snow plowing.

A Roads Needs Study is a planning tool used to understand the current condition, usage, and future needs of their road network and looks at the following:
• Traffic volumes (how many vehicles use each road)
• Road conditions (surface wear, structure, drainage)
• Safety factors (visibility, width, intersections)
• Maintenance and repair costs

Thank you for your patience as we collect important data to help plan and improve our road network.
