Touchdown! Youth Flag Football returns after a winning season

Ramara, Ont. / July 14, 2026 – Following an overwhelmingly successful season this spring, the Township of Ramara is proud to once again partner with SportsKlub to bring the Youth Flag Football program to the community this fall.

"Seeing nearly 100 young athletes take part in our first season with this new partnership was an incredible success," said Mayor Basil Clarke. "The enthusiasm from participants, families, volunteers and our partners exceeded expectations, and we're excited to build on that momentum this fall. Programs like this strengthen our community while encouraging healthy, active lifestyles for our youth."

Building on the success of the spring season, the fall program will introduce a new age division, expanding opportunities for more youth to get involved. Participants can register in one of three age groups: 8 to 11 years, 12 to 14 years or 15 to 17 years. Registration is open for youth from Ramara, Orillia, and surrounding communities.

The six-week program costs $60 to register and will run Tuesdays, Sept. 1 to Oct. 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Ramara Centre fields. Should a session be cancelled due to inclement weather, games will be held the next day (Wednesday).

Each participant will receive a team jersey, enjoy weekly photos and season highlights, and celebrate the end of the season with a pizza party generously sponsored by Tops In Pizza.

"After an incredible first season, we're thrilled to return to Ramara this fall," said Tyler Evans, Founder of SportsKlub. "The energy from the players and families was amazing, and we're excited to welcome returning athletes while introducing even more youth to the game."

To ensure enough time to prepare teams, order jerseys, and organize the season, registration  is now open. Families are encouraged to register early, as space is limited and spots are expected to fill quickly.
