Voting opens Oct. 8 for Ramara’s 2026 Municipal Election

Electors encouraged to cast their ballot; first paper ballot vote takes place Oct. 10

Ramara, Ont. / Oct. 7, 2026 - Voting in the Township of Ramara’s 2026 Municipal and School Board Election opens Thursday, Oct. 8 at 9 a.m., and eligible electors are encouraged to cast their ballot using one of the Township’s available voting options.

“Voting opens Oct. 8, and we encourage all eligible electors to take advantage of the voting option that works best for them,” said Rebecca Zanussi, Clerk and Returning Officer. “Whether you choose to vote online, by telephone, or by paper ballot at one of our advance voting opportunities, there are several ways to participate. With voting open until Election Day on Oct. 26, electors can choose when and how they cast their ballot.”

Voter Information Letter (VIL)

VILs have been mailed to registered electors and include voter information, instructions for voting and the unique PIN required to vote online or by telephone. Electors are encouraged to review the information on their VIL to ensure it is accurate and keep their letter and PIN in a secure location. Electors who have not received their VIL by Oct. 8, or who need to update their voter information, can visit ramara.ca/election or contact the Township’s Election Team for assistance.

Vote Online or By Telephone

Online and telephone voting will be available beginning Thursday, Oct. 8 at 9 a.m. and will remain open until Monday, Oct. 26 at 8 p.m. Electors voting online can cast their ballot using a computer, tablet or mobile device from wherever they have internet access. Telephone voting is also available throughout the voting period. Voters will need their VIL and PIN to access online and telephone voting.

Paper Ballot Voting

Electors who prefer to vote using a paper ballot can do so during one of three voting opportunities:

·        Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Township Administration Building, 2297 Highway 12

·        Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026, from 4 to 8 p.m. – Ramara Centre, 5482 Highway 12

·        Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Ramara Centre, 5482 Highway 12

Those attending paper ballot voting are asked to bring a piece of identification showing proof of name and qualifying address, as well as their VIL if available.

Paper ballots will not be available on Voting Day, Monday, Oct. 26. Electors voting on Oct. 26 can cast their ballot online or by telephone until 8 p.m.

Need Help Voting?

Electors who need assistance voting can visit the Voter Assistance Centre at the Ramara Administration Building, 2297 Highway 12, from Oct. 8 to 23 during regular Township business hours. On Voting Day, Monday, Oct. 26, the Voter Assistance Centre will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

For electors who need internet or device access to vote online, tablet devices will be available at the Voter Assistance Centre during the voting period and on Election Day. Public computers are also available at Township of Ramara Public Library branches during regular operating hours.

Eligible electors in Ramara will vote for Mayor, Deputy Mayor, their respective Ward Councillor where the position has not been acclaimed, and the applicable School Board Trustee.
