Work begins on Bridge 201 renewal in Lagoon City on Sept. 22
Ramara, Ont. / Sept. 17, 2025 – The Township of Ramara is informing residents and visitors that reconstruction of Bridge 201, located on Poplar Crescent in Lagoon City, is scheduled to begin Sept. 22, 2025.
“We know this bridge closure will be an inconvenience for local residents and visitors in the area and we appreciate your patience,” said Mayor Basil Clarke. “Our priority is ensuring this critical piece of infrastructure is renewed safely and efficiently, while keeping the community informed throughout the process.”
The work involves replacing the existing bridge culverts, undertaking structural repairs, and improving the guide rails and road surface. Construction is anticipated to begin in mid-September, with the majority of work completed by mid-December 2025.
As part of this project, Bridge 201 will be closed to traffic during construction. A signed detour route will be in place to guide motorists safely around the closure (see attached detour map).
The $1.2 million project was awarded to Four Brothers Construction by Ramara Council on July 21, 2025.
The Township and its contractor will work to minimize disruption as much as possible; however, drivers are asked to allow extra time when travelling in the area and to use caution near the active construction zone. Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
The Bridge 201 reconstruction project is funded in part by the Government of Canada through the Canada Community-Building Fund.
