Official Plan

The Township of Ramara's Official Plan outlines the goals, priorities, and permitted land uses within our municipality. The Official Plan works in conjunction with other applicable legislation, such as the Planning Act, Provincial Planning Statement, Lake Simcoe Protection Plan, and County of Simcoe Official Plan.

Official Plan Amendments

If a proposed development does not comply with the Township's Official Plan, you will need to submit a Planning Application. Contact the Township of Ramara to discuss the application that you will need for your project.

Official Plan Review

The Township of Ramara is conducting a review of its Official Plan. 

On June 2, 2025, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Ramara enacted Bylaw 2025.36 under Section 17 of the Planning Act to adopt a new Official Plan for the Township of Ramara.

The adopted Plan and all necessary supporting documentation is being forwarded to the County of Simcoe for approval. The County of Simcoe is the approval authority for the Township’s Official Plans and amendments.
