Economic Development
The Township's economic development team is committed to seeing the growth and improvement of infrastructure and services within the community and developing Ramara as a destination for both residential and business needs.
Have Your Say: Help Shape the Future of Economic Development in Ramara
Ramara is growing and the Township invites residents, businesses, and community partners to help guide what that growth should look like.
The Township of Ramara has launched a community survey to gather insight on local business needs, growth opportunities, and the challenges facing our community. Your input will directly inform Ramara’s updated Economic Development Strategy and the creation of a new Community Improvement Plan (CIP), two key tools that will guide investment, revitalization initiatives, and long-term economic prosperity across the Township.
Why Your Input Matters
Community perspectives are essential as Ramara charts its future. By participating in the survey, you can help:
-
Identify local business challenges and opportunities
-
Strengthen tourism and community identity
-
Highlight revitalization priorities
-
Inform infrastructure needs
-
Define what successful, sustainable economic development should look like in Ramara
Survey participants will also be able to enter a draw for a Local Ramara Prize Pack.
How to Participate
The survey is open until December 12, 2025, and can be completed at:
Township of Ramara - Economic Development Survey
To request the survey in an alternative format, please contact the Township at info@ramara.ca or call 705-484-5374.
Additional Engagement
In addition to the public survey, Georgian College is conducting interviews with businesses, organizations, and community partners across the Township. These conversations, combined with survey results, will help ensure a full understanding of local needs and opportunities. All feedback will be analyzed by Georgian College and summarized in a report to Council in early 2026.
About the Project
This engagement effort is part of a collaborative initiative between the Township of Ramara and Georgian College’s Research and Innovation Department. Together, we are developing:
-
An updated Economic Development Strategy, and
-
A new Community Improvement Plan (CIP)
These tools will guide future investment, identify revitalization priorities, enhance business supports, and help shape a long-term vision for economic prosperity across the Township.
Economic Development Strategy
We are committed to the improvement of both our economy and community. Our economic development strategy outlines the way that we intend to develop the Township.
