Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians (DRAO) Program Activated for April 2026 Flooding
The Province of Ontario has announced that the Lake St. John area within the Township of Ramara has been designated as an activation area under the Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians (DRAO) program for flooding that occurred in April 2026. Read the full notice.

The Township of Ramara, in collaboration with the Couchiching Ontario Health Team (COHT) and the Orillia & Lake Country Physician Recruitment Committee (OLCPR), is pleased to announce that in-person primary health care is coming closer to home in Ramara.
Take Notice that the Council of The Corporation of the Township of Ramara has granted draft approval for a Plan of Subdivision subject to conditions in accordance with Subsection 51(31) of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.13, as amended.
The Township of Ramara administration building and facilities will be closed on Monday, August 4, 2025, for the Civic Holiday. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
Following a review of aquatic weed control methods and programs, the Township of Ramara has discontinued the use of herbicide applications in Lagoon City’s canals.
Due to uneven surfaces and to maintain public safety, a portion of the public dock located at the end of Dock Road has been closed and is not available for public access at this time.
Please note that the Lagoon City Parks and Waterways Commission meeting originally scheduled for July 10, 2025, has been rescheduled to July 24, 2025, due to unforeseen circumstances.
Please be advised that starting the week of July 7, 2025, Wessuc Inc. will begin transporting wastewater effluent from the Bayshore Village sewage lagoons (3407 Barnstable Drive) to the Lagoon City Wastewater Treatment Plant (155 Laguna Parkway) (see map) on behalf of the Township of Ramara. Hauling will occur Monday to Friday between 6 a.m. and 6p.m.
The Township of Ramara Administration Building and facilities (including the Ramara Township Public Library) will be closed on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, for Canada Day.
Water service has been restored to the Bayshore Village Water System that affected properties on Bayshore Drive, Misty Court and Southview Drive.
A previous notice was issued for a Special Council Meeting to be held on June 23, 2025. This meeting will now be rescheduled to Monday, June 30, 2025 at 9:30 a.m.
IN THE MATTER OF an application by The Corporation of the Township of Ramara for the approval to expropriate those lands being Lots 27 and 28 Plan 264 former Township of Mara, County of Simcoe, for the purpose of providing an Easement for use by the general public to access public lands.
