In-Person Health Care Coming to Ramara

Dr. Anoushka Mohammadiankhorasani (Dr. Mo), a primary care physician, will begin serving the community starting in July, with a new medical practice located at the Ramara Medical Centre in Brechin.

Sandbag Stations

The Township of Ramara is making sandbags and sand available to residents in response to ongoing localized flooding conditions.
Sandbags and sand are available at the following locations:
• Yard 3 – 7305 County Rd. 169
• Longford Mills Community Centre – 3854 Longford Mills Rd.
• Bluebird Park – 6316 Bluebird St.
• Brechin Ball Diamond at 3219 Ramara Rd. 47.
• Udney Community Centre – 2347 Concession Road 10 
Residents need to bring their own shovel and be prepared to fill bags and load them into their vehicle.

Beaches

There are many places to swim in Ramara, but five locations are designated public beach locations.
Throughout the summer between June and September (Labour Day weekend) water samples are collected from these designated public beaches by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit. In Ontario, water samples are tested for E. coli bacteria and the beach may be posted when bacteria levels exceed the recreational water quality guideline of 200 E. coli per 100 mL of water.

Beaches are unsupervised, so please play responsibly when around the water.

Mara Provincial Park

McRae Provincial Park

As stipulated by Bylaw 2020.53 and Bylaw 2021.38, kitesurfing and/or kiteboarding are prohibited on municipal property between the Thursday prior to the long weekend in May through to the Thursday following Labour Day Weekend in September. The bylaws also prohibit year-round kitesurfing and/or kiteboarding at the following locations:

  • The Steps Municipal Park and Beach at Ridge Avenue; and
  • Simcoe Road Municipal Road Allowance from Ridge Avenue to Lake Simcoe
