The role of the Bylaw Enforcement Officer includes education, investigation and enforcement of all Bylaws within the Township. It is not necessary for a Bylaw Enforcement Officer to attend each site to carryout enforcement procedures. Usually the officer will rely on information provided by the complainant.

When to notify the Police

You should report any criminal activity directly to the Ontario Provincial Police, such as:

  • Vandalism
  • Trespassing
  • Domestic Disputes
  • Littering

Residents can also report a crime online using the OPP Report a Crime online form.

The Township of Ramara is governed by an elected Council consisting of seven members: Mayor, Deputy Mayor and five Councillors. The Mayor and Deputy Mayor are elected by all eligible electors, while each Councillor is elected by the eligible electors of their respective ward. The Township of Ramara has implemented a Burning Bylaw to help residents burn safely. If there is no burn ban in affect, and you follow these restrictions, you may have a bonfire. Make sure to check the local conditions before burning.
