Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians (DRAO) Program Activated for April 2026 Flooding
The Province of Ontario has announced that the Lake St. John area within the Township of Ramara has been designated as an activation area under the Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians (DRAO) program for flooding that occurred in April 2026. Read the full notice.

The Township of Ramara, in collaboration with the Couchiching Ontario Health Team (COHT) and the Orillia & Lake Country Physician Recruitment Committee (OLCPR), is pleased to announce that in-person primary health care is coming closer to home in Ramara.
Ramara's Bulk Water Filling Station is located at the Brechin Water Tower at 2787 Perry Ave. in Brechin.
The current bulk water rate is $5 per cubic metre.
The Bulk Water Station has been transferred over to a new card system for payment. The reader will accept debit cards, credit cards or a Township-issued reloadable payment card.
A Reloadable payment card can be purchased from the Township Office (2297 Highway 12, Brechin) for $10. The payment card can be pre-loaded with any dollar amount at the Township Office. There is no fee for loading the card. The Township accepts cash, cheque or debit for payment.
The Bulk Water Station has a 2" male cam lock fitting. You will require a 2” cam lock hose to use it.
If the Ramara's Bulk Water Station is out of service, there are other bulk water fill stations in the area. Please note, these locations may only be available for commercial haulers.
Residents can access potable water at the outdoor water tap located at Fire Hall #1 (3290 Ramara Road 47) in Brechin near the Canine Shelter.
