Effective Friday, May 23, 2025, Canada Post workers, who are members of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers, initiated strike action with a national overtime ban for employees in the Urban and RSMC (Rural and Suburban Mail Carriers) bargaining units. This is a legal strike action and means that CUPW-represented employees will refuse to work overtime across the company.
As a result, Canada Post will continue operating but customers may experience delays. As a result, several Township of Ramara services may be affected. The Township will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates related to service impacts as they become available. Please continue to visit the Township of Ramara’s website or follow us on social media for information. For updates regarding the potential Canada Post labour negotiations, please visit canadapost.ca.
