Ramara/July 10, 2024 – The Township of Ramara is seeking feedback on its vision for future indoor and outdoor recreation. Through public consultation, the township aims to understand current usage and needs, as well as identify important changes to recreation programs and facilities.

Mayor Clarke emphasizes the importance of updating our Recreation Master Plan, "It's been over 10 years since the development of our last Recreation Master Plan, and with the community's needs evolving and our population growing, this is the time to strategically plan for the future. Public feedback is instrumental in reviewing and updating the plan, and I urge every resident, business owner, and frequent visitor to participate in the survey and attend our public open houses. The input from our community will play a direct role in shaping the future of our recreation programs, facilities, trails, and capital projects. This input will ensure that our community's needs are met and that our future plans align strategically.”

In April 2024, the Township of Ramara engaged Planscape Inc. to assist in the development of a comprehensive 10-year Recreation Master Plan.  This plan will thoroughly assess our current recreation services, including programs, trails, facilities, and events, and make recommendations to meet the needs of our residents until 2035.

Public and stakeholder input, demographic data, and other factors will be considered when developing the new Recreation Master Plan to provide a dynamic Plan focused on the needs of residents throughout Ramara.

How can I provide feedback?

Participants can complete a survey and attend one of the two open houses.

A survey will be available online and in paper form between July 10 and August 2. A paper copy can be found at the Ramara Centre or the Township Administration Building during business hours.
