The Township of Ramara Declares State of Emergency in response to the aftermath of the ice storm
Ramara, ON/ March 31, 2025 – The Township of Ramara has declared a State of Emergency under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act due to the severe impacts of the ice storm.
The decision comes amid the impacts of the ice storm, which have resulted in widespread power outages, intermittent communications issues, and downed trees and power lines across the Township.
“The declaration enables the Township to access additional resources for emergency response, ensuring the health and safety of our residents. Our top priority is keeping everyone safe, so I urge residents to stay home and avoid all non-essential travel. Township staff are diligently working to clear roads and respond to downed trees. Since communication may be intermittent, please restrict your calls to emergency purposes only.”
