Zoning By-law Amendment
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of The Corporation of the Township of Ramara passed By-law #2025.26 on April 28, 2025, under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.13. This By-law amends the Township of Ramara Zoning By-law 2005.85, as amended.

The applicant applied for these amendments and as per Section 34(18) of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.13, as amended, Notice shall be given to any prescribed person or public body who has the right to appeal these by-laws. If you choose not to appeal these by-laws, no further action is necessary.
Purpose and Effect:
To amend the current Village Residential – 6 (VR-6) zoning to Village Residential - 21 (VR-21) to enable the development of a three-unit townhome on the subject property by permitting townhouse multiple dwelling as a permitted use on the property.
At this time, there are no planning applications, under the Planning Act, pertaining to these lands.
All written and oral submissions received in response to the application were considered in making an informed recommendation and decision as summarized in Staff Report BP-10-25.
The By-law can be found on the Township's website at https://ramara.civicweb.net/document/107677/ or by requesting a copy from planning@ramara.ca.
Appeal Process:
No person or public body shall be added as a party to the hearing of the appeal unless, before the zoning amendments were adopted, the person or public body made oral submissions at a public meeting or written submissions to the Council or, in the opinion of the Ontario Land Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
Subsection 34(19) of the Planning Act defines the parties that are eligible to appeal the decision to the Ontario Land Tribunal.
If you intend to appeal this Zoning By-law, a Notice of Appeal must be filed with the Township Clerk, Corporation of the Township of Ramara, 2297 Highway 12, PO Box 130, Brechin ON L0K 1B0, no later than 20 days from the date of this Notice for each by-law and shall include:
- The reasons for the appeal and the specific part of the proposed Zoning By-law amendment to which the appeal applies.
- A completed A1 Appellant Form. This form is to be completed by the appellant for appeals relating to the Zoning By-law amendment and is available on the Ontario Land Tribunal website.
- The applicable fee made payable to the “Minister of Finance.”
The last day for filing a Notice of Appeal is 4:30 p.m. on May 22, 2025.
