Why is a Septic Permit required?

Sewage (septic) systems under 10,000 Liters per day are regulated by the Ontario Building Code. Any work done to, or that could affect the septic system requires a permit from the municipality.

Change of use that increases the flow of the building

Installation, repair or addition of a sewage holding tank

The system is failing

Site grading or alterations in the vicinity of the septic system
