Half Load Restrictions

Reduced load restrictions will be extended past May 15, 2018 until road conditions improve as spring break up is still in progress.  As some roads are in better condition than others, exemptions may be made.  Please e-mail Ashley Watson at awatson@ramara.ca to see if an exemption can be made for a specific route.  In the e-mail, please include specific route, weight per axle, and the length of time for which the exemption is needed.

​Spring Yard Waste Cleanup - Open Air Burning Warning


When doing yard waste cleanup this spring, please remember the following points of warning regarding open air burning:
•    fires cannot be lit during burn bans
•    fires cannot be lit during smog alerts
•    weather conditions must be good for clearing smoke
•    fires may not be lit when wind causes unsafe conditions
•    fires must be supervised by an adult at all times
•    fires must be fully extinguished at the completion of a burn event
•    equipment for controlling and extinguishing fires must be available at the burn location
•    clean dry wood is the only material that may be burned
•    painted wood, leaves, grass clippings and other materials may not be burned
•    flying lanterns may not be sold or used within the City

Industrial Development Charges Waived

On June 26th 2017 Council passed a Bylaw waiving development charges on Industrial Development until 2019*. The County of Simcoe matched the Township of Ramara’s Bylaw, therefore development in the Industrial Park is only subject to School Board Development charges.  *Dates subject to change at the discretion of Council.
